The BidVertiser XML/Smartlink will allow you to integrate the BidVertiser Ads in 3 different manners:
1. Native/Search - including title, description, click URL (+optional image for native)
2. Pops - click URL only
3. Direct link/Redirect - click URL only
There are 2 integration options:
1. Programmatic - integration via XML
2. Smartlink - link redirect (for pop/direct) or iframe (for native)
This implementation is recommended for networks, high traffic websites and for experienced media buyers only. The major advantage of this implementation is the ability to pass subid and referrer data to the ad request, so that if you are a network - you can track revenue per each of your websites/affiliates with one code only.
Please Note: Smartlinks and XMLs will become active after a few requests and you can start testing, however, before going live - make sure to open a support ticket to be assigned with an account manager.
Here is an example:
https://cdn.hyperpromote.com/bidvertiser/tags/active/bvpprtr.html?pid=XXXXXX&bid=XXXXXXX&subid=myTrafficSource1&kw=flight+tickets&url=http://www.MyWebsite.com/WhereTheTrafficComesFrom&mincpc=0.01&flback=http://RedirectToFallbackUrl.com
subid=myTraffiSource1 - This allows you to report that a particular impression/click was generated from certain traffic source, allowing you to easily optimize or report revenue back to your publishers (you can automate it by using our statistic API)
kw= flight+tickets - This tells BidVertiser that this particular impression is related to flights. Although it is not required, it is highly recommended because it allows us to match better paying ads for your traffic.
url= http://www.MyWebsite.com/WhereTheTrafficComesFrom - This should match the URL where the traffic is coming from, for example, a URL of a website.
mincpc=0.01 - This informs BidVertiser what the minimum Cost per Click you expect from the ad placement. Here it is set as $0.01. We will always try and show the most profitable ads, only use this function if you have a better paid alternative available, otherwise you will still be better off earning some revenue than 0. If we cannot match this, no ad will not be shown, or we will use the fallback URL you provide.
flback= http://RedirectToFallbackUrl.com - Here I have setup a fallback URL for BidVertiser to redirect to, should BidVertiser not be able to serve ads on my request or could not meet my minimum CPC expectations for this ad space.
The pop/redirect smartlink is for redirect traffic, so you just redirect to the smartlink any traffic that you want to monetize. You can redirect natural traffic that you get from search engines, from dead links, from expired domains – so, there is no implementation on the site/search results needed – it requires only a redirection to this page. The end-user does not see an ad at all – he is being redirected to the advertiser directly.
For the Native/Search smartlink, it is just an iframe that you need to implement – along with the parameters. This is more for “native” and less for “search” (search is more for XML).
