Funding your account
When you first setup a credit/debit card agreement with us, the first charge will start off as an authorisation hold. This means the bank have taken the funds from your account, but have set them aside. BidVertiser has not yet claimed them, and do not have possession of them. Until these funds are claimed, they will not be reflected in your account, please do not continue attempting to fund an account once there are pending funds in place.
The security team will then check the details supplied, along with automated detection systems, to ensure that there is no fraudulent activity taking place. If they are suspicious, we may deduct two small charges (under $1 each) from your account, and ask for you to tell us what these charges were. Another option is for us to request a picture of the front and back of the card, along with a copy of ID of the cardholder (preferably as part of a selfie).
If for whatever reason, these funds aren't claimed, they will be returned to the bank account by the bank, in accordance to their terms and conditions (typically within 14 days).
Whenever you activate a coupon with a credit/debit card, a $100 authorisation hold will be set in place. However, whilst the card will still be checked, once approved, the free credit will be added, but the authorisation hold not claimed until the free credit is used up (or about to be used up according to your budget settings). If you do not use the free credit, the authorisation hold will be returned as normal, by your bank, though the credit card agreement will remain in place.
