In order to track your campaigns in order to optimize them effectively, we supply many Macros that can be used in conjunction with an analytics service.
These Macros can be accessed in the Edit Ad section, or as you are creating the ad itself.
We recommend using our various tracking macros, especially the traffic source parameter {BV_SRCID}, in order to track the performance of your campaign and optimize accordingly. Tracking {BV_SRCID} will help you identify well performing sources so you can allocate them more budget on behalf of such that do not perform as well.
Available Macros are:
Traffic source: {BV_SRCID}
Search Term / Contextual data (if applicable): {BV_KEYWORD}
Your Keyword: {BV_DBKEYWORD}
Unique Click ID to use with server to server postback for conversion tracking: {BV_CLICKID}
Campaign ID: {BV_CAMPID}
Country, Alpha 2: {BV_GEO}
Your campaign's bid (in US$): {BV_BID}
COUNTRY: {BV_COUNTRY}
REGION: {BV_REGION}
CITY: {BV_CITY}
Contextual pop ads only:
Referring domain (valid for Contextual Pops only): {BV_DOMREF}
Adding these macros to your URL should be done in the following format:
https://www.mysite.com/page1/?TrafficSource={BV_SRCID}&Campaign={BV_CAMPID}
With the first macro starting with a ? and each subsequent one separated with an &. Each Macro requires a name which is placed before an = and the code itself.
You will need to make sure that tracking codes are working with analytics on your site, as we can only pass the information along, we cannot change how your analytics software receives it.
Creative Macros
Using these macros in your Ad (the Title and Description) will allow you to target these parts of your ad directly to the user viewing them. Use our various creative macros in order to turn your creative local and targeted.
- Country: {BV_COUNTRY}
